The main dry substance used in the treatment of potable water is powdered activated carbon for the reduction and adsorption of contaminants. For each application Wallace & Tiernan has a suitable

dosing unit for activated powder carbon: The JETPAK is suitable for up to three points of application for which a powdered activated carbon suspension of 20 or 40 g/l is prepared. The amount added can be adjusted separately for each point of application.

The BIGBAG is suitable for larger quantities – with discharge agitator and flexible screw conveyor.

Wherever lime is employed for neutralisation purposes and used as lime milk, Wallace & Tiernan

lime slakers come into action.

In addition Wallace & Tiernan manufactures customised dosing equipment for dry chemicals of all types, such as hydrated lime or aluminium sulphate. Wallace & Tiernan manufactures special compact preparation and dosing systems for polyelectrolytes which are used as flocculants.
